Le Derrière is a place that cultivates mystery. This unusual restaurant can’t be found, at first, if you do don’t know where to look (hint: behind – ironically – the Couscous 404 Restaurant and the bar Andy Walhoo of Mourad Mazouz) … Then, once past the narrow corridors, we arrived on an unexpected and undefinable outcome. Were we lost in a very trendy apartment or in an organized nostalgia shop? What is certain is that the decoration (by Bambi Sloan, this Franco-American woman behind the restaurant decor who has caught the eye of Stella McCartney and Madonna) alone is worth a visit. The unusual blend of retro television, ping-pong tables and tubs transforms this apartment into a twist on a real art gallery. This work of art joins business with pleasure, since in addition to offering a unique atmosphere, we found it perfect to share a meal, a cocktail party or a brunch with friends. Brunch is served in a buffet with, among other dishes, lentils and small grains, pickled beef satay, muslin zucchini and focaccia.
An address once strictly reserved for insiders, advertising was done solely through word-of-mouth. And this recipe worked: this unexpected brunch restaurant is now the most popular with young artsy Parisians, on the lookout for good and surprising places.
