A new edition to the right bank, le Recyclerie, located at metro Porte de Clignancourt in the 18th, is an open spaced café, restaurant, farm, market, repair shop, DIY activity center and more. The space is an old railway station (Gare Ornano) dating back to 1869, with high ceilings, bay windows overlooking the rails, and large terrace along the rails filled with plants, colorful furniture and even a small farm with goats and chickens. The cafe’s name pays homage to the three “R”s: Reduce, reuse and recycle, and focuses on low energy, do it yourself concepts. Workshops take place daily for children and adults, ranging from cooking, gardening and yoga classes to workshops on building and repairs given by in-house repairman, René.
The food menu changes weekly and always consists of a vegetarian and vegan option. The products are seasonal and local and prices range from 8€ to 15€ a meal and bottomless coffee. Local French wine from nearby wine bar/shop, En Frac, is sold by the glass or bottle. No Reservations
The Recyclerie is located 5 minutes walking distance from the famous flee market and in St. Ouen, so it is the perfect stop if you plan on spending a weekend afternoon browsing antiques.
