This old bistro took the name of its managers from its origins (1937), named in 1980 by Marie Martine Dez who wanted to keep the soul of Mimille in the place. Mimille was a painter in his spare time and some of those paintings still decorate the walls of the restaurant, as a way to continue the traditional bistro spirit of the time. In the heart of the 5th district, take a step back from the noisy and lively Rue Mouffetard. This bistro has a unique terrace, overlooking a small square and sheltered from the sidewalks and traffic. In the kitchen, the menu changes with the seasons and offers simple but refined dishes, created from quality products such as ravioli with prawns, beef even chicken à la Bourguignonne. The pastries are by Pierre Hermé, such as tasty Carrément chocolate or even Infinitely Vanilla pie. This bistro also offers good Iberian meats like Bellota and some molecular based cuisine. The price range is slightly high but so is the quality, and the weekday daily special at 15 € is a good deal. The lunch formula is at 39 € on weekdays and is more interesting than the menu because it includes an appetizer, a starter, main course, dessert, coffee and a bottle of wine to choose for two. The service is attentive. Remember to book especially during sunny days where you can enjoy the sunny terrace. Ask for a table on the terrace side. Perfect place for a romantic dinner.
