Itacate

94 rue Saint Honoré 75001 Paris

Finding a real Mexican restaurant in Paris is rare but this one combines authentic cuisine and reasonable prices despite the fact that it is in a more than idyllic location just few steps from Louvre. Unfussy decor, simple but colorful like Mexico, Itacate is a little “taqueria Mexicana” haunt of all of the Latinos in the capital, and the embassy for travelers who wish to find a bit of the soul of their country.

The menu brings together the best of Mexican cuisine: tacos (stuffed corn tortillas), to essential Quesadillas (wheat pancakes with melted cheese), with Alambres (beef or chicken on the plancha) and extra Guacamole. Do not miss a unique specialty in Paris: Tacos al Pastor (pork marinated and cooked on a spit). Vegetarians will also find something to their liking with Nopales dish: slices of cactus, tomatoes, onions and feta cheese…a real treat! Traditional drinks include the Frozen Margarita, Jamaica (hibiscus flower infusion) as well as the Horchata (made from rice and almonds with a touch of cinnamon).

The terrace overlooks the front of an ancient building on a small square in the heart of Paris that gives the impression of being somewhere else completely!
