Kong

1 Rue du Pont Neuf, 75001 Paris

Kong has become the not-to-miss restaurant in Paris. A mix of old and modern, even futuristic, awaits you in this huge glass walled restaurant perched on top of a beautiful Haussmann building. Indeed, what better than a roof and walls of glass to enjoy an unforgettable panorama? The Pont Neuf, the Seine, the Ile de la Cité: each window faces a different view.

But one doesn’t come to Kong just to enjoy Parisian architecture. Boldly decorated by Starck, the restaurant artfully blends Japanese inspirations with reimagined Louis XVI furnishings. The result? A daring, futuristic and unexpected decor,  that makes this a privileged meeting place for the chic and trendy.

If the Japanese inspiration is visible in the decoration, it is also apparent in the dishes. Between tuna sashimi spring rolls and chocolate and Japanese spaghetti “udon”, the inventive menu by Laurent Taieb perfectly blends traditional Japanese dishes with modern French cuisine. But to enjoy the morning sun under the canopy of Kong, there is nothing like their brunch: a lobster hot dog, duck breast with Sichuan berries, mango salad and coconut sorbet? Hard to decide, especially since those are only a few choices of many! Always more original and always just as tasty, Kong continues to renew itself and still appeals to customers who return … and do not hesitate to return in the evening to enjoy the flawlessly unique club and a musical program.
