La Fontaine Gaillon

1 rue de la Michodière - 75002 Paris

In a former mansion of the seventeenth century, only a few steps from the Opera, the Fontaine Gaillon, is a former home taken over by our national foodie, Gérard Depardieu. It showcases gourmet French cuisine, made with “simple and in season” and that is respectful of “traditional ingredients” as says its chef Laurent Audiot, who, just like at chez Marius et Janette (a famous Parisian seafood brasserie), he celebrates fresh seafood and with some other specialties like Merlan Colbert or fresh grapefruit cake. With a menu that doesn’t cheat and a wine cellar that is always changing, we can trust our connoisseur and winemaker Gérard, with wines from our region or well Sicilian and Moroccan wines. You can find seating according to your preferences, whether you prefer an atmosphere conducive to conversation come dine in the small chic and intimate rooms upstairs or if you prefer a romantic atmosphere choose the beautiful Italian terrace at the foot of the fountain hidden behind reeds where you can enjoy the nice days and summer evenings. An attentive and very professional service (valet available). The menu is pricey (allow between 60 and 90 €) but it is justified if we consider the incredible quality of the ingredients and dishes, the setting and the service. You will understand, here as in the annex bistro opposite “L’écaille de la fontaine” seafood is king. Reservations highly recommended.
