Basilique Sacré Coeur

35 rue du Chevalier de la Barre - 75018 Paris

The Basilica Sacre Coeur definitively one of the essential places to visit in the city: It is one of the most visited religious monuments in France along the Notre-Dame de Paris. With millions of visitors every year, it is both a tourist and pilgrimmage stop: indeed Montmartre has been center of religion since Gallo-Roman times.
Built following the Commune of Paris of 1871, the Basilica reflects an a eclectic style of architecture: the Byzantine and Roman styles intermingle to create a unique monument. Even more, you can have a panoramic view of the capital by visiting the dome. Enjoy Paris at 360 °! You must, of course, make your way inside the Basilica to enjoy the building in all its magnificence : the ceiling is alone the largest mosaic in France (over 480 m²!).
