The brilliant designer Gustave Eiffel has, unintentionally, created a cultural symbol recognizable as Paris and universally, as a symbol of France. Created for the Universal Exhibition, it was inaugurated in 1889. The Eiffel Tower is a landmark of Paris entrusted with a little-known story and surprising facts. To discover: 72 names of the greatest scientists, engineers and prominent French figures are engraved at the base of the tower.
The second level, at 57 m, has a transparent floor. The 3rd level, at 115 m, has a panoramic gourmet restaurant, Jules Verne, which overlooking a stunning view of Paris.
The top floor, at 214 m, is where Gustave Eiffel previously built a private office. Every night flickering lights overlay the usual golden lighting. It animates the monument for five minutes before each hour and stays illuminated until 1:00 am. To close the show, as a highlight, from 1:00 am to 1:10 am the golden light is switched off, leaving only the flickering lights for five minutes of magic! An even different vision not to be missed.
